In the case at center of the room you can see a “strange” object…

During the excavation of the summer triclinium of the Roman Villa of San Vincenzino (open to the public), a precious golden alabaster statuette was found – perhaps extracted from an Algerian quarry – of the Egyptian goddess Isis. Characteristic of the image of the goddess is the typical “Isiac knot”, the bow that gathers the edges of the cloak on the chest. The forearms and head, fixed with small iron pins, were made of a different material, perhaps a white marble. The presence of the statuette in the villa is explained by the great success enjoyed by the cult of Isis in Rome, particularly in the imperial age and among the aristocratic classes.

In the display cases on the right there are finds that come from the excavations of the Roman villa of San Vincenzino, from the Roman necropolises in the surroundings of Cecina and from the Mazzanta production district.

In particular in the finds from the Roman Villa of San Vincenzino one can observe a small monetary treasure (5th century AD) found in the spa of the villa, a lamp with the monogram of Christ. The long objects is a lead tube coming from the waterworks of the villa.

On the left of the room you can see some decorations of the rooms of the Roman villa, such as a fragment of mosaic decoration and a fragment of an agate window.
